16 AIによる概要 をoffにする

しばらく前から、Google で検索したとき、 「AI による概要」というのが表示される。 ふむふむ、と読んで、それほど気にしていなかったのだけれど、 先日「それは事実と違う！」というのに出会した。

まあ、所属する大学に関することで、 部外者にはちょっと分かりにくい事実 (「○○は●●である」とどこにも書かれていない。 周辺を読んでいると「○○は□□である」と誤解する人がいそうではある。 誤解しても仕方がないとは思うけれど、 その誤解を皆に提示するのはまずいよね。) についての説明だった。

怖い感じがしたので、どうやってそれを見ないようにできるか考えた。

Firefox だと 「udm14」 という拡張機能を入れれば良いらしい。

能書を見ると

Search engine add-on so that the udm=14 parameter is automatically included in Google searches.

As of 22 May 2024, this parameter requests Google to return a more stripped down view for search results, omitting much of the additional junk inserted by allegedly AI processes.

This add-on was created solely to make it easier for me to use this parameter for default search. Uploaded in case it is of use to others.

After adding udm14 to Firefox, you can use Settings > Search > Default Search Engine to select it as the default.

このパラメータはグーグルに、 AIプロセスによって挿入されたとされる追加的なガラクタの多くを省いて、 検索結果に対してより削ぎ落とされたビューを返すよう要求している。

うわー。「ガラクタ」。身も蓋もないね。

Chrome では、設定をいじれば良いと書いてあるサイトもあったが、 出来なかった。 Chrome にも同様の機能を持つ拡張機能があるようだ。
